Vestergaard Frandsen joins 'Madness Against Malaria' Feb 01, 2007 Vestergaard Frandsen’s very own Team Galactico of Kolding, Denmark currently holds 2nd place in the Madness Against Malaria tournament. This small team, only five members strong, has raised an incredible €4277.21 ($ 5599.38). That amounts to 1050 bed nets, or as Madness Against Malaria calculates, 56 lives saved. The passion that fuels Team Galactico is clear in their homepage message: "We are a small, passionate office based in the heart of Denmark who all really believes in this fantastic project/initiative and we are doing everything we can in order to make people aware of the need of mosquito nets in various parts of the world. So please make your donation with us…" Inspired by the basketball tournament March Madness, Madness Against Malaria features teams that ‘compete’ by raising donations. The first round will continue until the end of February 2007, when the top 64 teams will automatically enter Round 2. An initiative of the charity World Swim for Malaria, Madness Against Malaria will donate a staggering 100% of the tournament’s proceeds to purchase long-lasting insecticidal (mosquito) nets (LLINs). In addition to the Kolding office, several other Vestergaard Frandsen offices have taken the initiative to create their own teams. Maintaining a respectable 15th place with $336.59 raised is the Lausanne Lovers, based at Vestergaard Frandsen’s headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland.
