PermaNet® 3.0 - Service Package

PermaNet® 3.0 comes with a value-added service.

The ARQ Monitoring Program is a monitoring service that will be provided free of charge with large orders* of PermaNet® 3.0. The program will incorporate three elements aimed at tracking the performance of PermaNet® 3.0 under local conditions:

  • Acceptability: householder acceptance of bednets
  • Insecticide resistance: monitoring of local vector populations
  • Quality assurance: monitoring of physical and chemical status of bednets

Each ARQ Monitoring Program will run at a designated site over a period of three years.

The annual document issued to the customer will include:

  • Summary of householder questionnaires and focus group evaluations on PermaNet® 3.0 bednet use
  • Report on insecticide resistance status of the local vector population
  • Data on PermaNet® 3.0 product bioavailability and durability

This unique program offers the following advantages to country programs:

  • Information on the uptake, retention and use of PermaNet® 3.0 will offer insight into appropriate communication messages to promote optimal bednet coverage.
  • Continuous monitoring of insecticide resistance and mechanisms will inform decisions on insecticide selection and resistance management strategies. This may also result in first alerts on insecticide resistance.
  • Periodic evaluation of the physical and chemical condition of PermaNet® 3.0 bednets will provide information on longevity in response to local conditions. This will assist in devising timely bednet replacement strategies.
